Launching Ceremony of LCM 40
ANADOLU SHIPYARD ADDS A NEW ONE TO ITS SHIPBUILDING ACHIEVEMENTS WITH THEIR ORIGINAL NATIONAL DESIGN. THE SECOND AND THIRD LANDING SHIPS TO BE BUILT AND EXPORTED BY THE PRIVATE SECTOR IN TURKEY ARE LAUNCHING.
THE CEREMONY WILL BE HELD WITH THE PRESENCE OF QATARI EMIRI NAVAL FORCES MAJOR GENERAL ABDULLAH BIN HASSAN AL SULAITI, HIGH-LEVEL MILITARY AND CIVIL OFFICIALS FROM QATAR AND TURKEY.
In accordance with the contract signed between Anadolu Shipyard and Barzan Holdings within the scope of the three Landing Ships (LCT/LCM) foreseen for the needs of the Qatar Emiri Naval Forces, the production schedule started on 08 September 2020.
These Landing Crafts, built by private sector shipyards in Turkey and equipped with advanced technology, are built entirely of marine type aluminum with a domestic and original design.
Ships are built under the supervision of Turkish Lloyd in accordance with Turkish Lloyd Military Ship Rules are certified by Turkish Lloyd.
The ships have an overall length of approximately 40 meters, a width of 9 meters and a displacement of approximately 300 tons.
Its maximum speed at full load is 18 kts, its economic speed is 15 kts, and with 1 tank it is 26+ kts (nautical miles).
The ships can carry a total of 130 tons of cargo, or 2 Main Battle Tanks or 120 fully equipped marines, and can operate with 7 personnel.
The ships have a range of 400 nautical miles.
Ships will be able to perform Logistic Support duties, apart from landing missions.
The design of the ships was made nationally by Anadolu Shipyard, and it will contribute to the representation of our Shipyard in the world with its day and night operations capability. All system integrations are also carried out by our Shipyard.
The first type ship of the project, Landing Craft Tank “LCT QL80 FUAWIRIT” was launched on 25 September 2021. The LCT and 2 LCM and 1 LCVP ships are planned to be commissioned in the Qatar Emiri Naval Forces in October 2022.
